Antipsychotic Drugs Might Raise Heart Attack Risk: Study

WEDNESDAY, Mar 28 (HealthDay News) — Antipsychotic drugs can
raise a risk of heart attack in comparison patients with dementia, a new
study suggests.

It’s common to allot antipsychotics to comparison patients with dementia
to control symptoms such as agitation, hallucinations and aggression.
Previous studies have found that this use of a drugs might be related to an
increased risk of cadence and genocide from all causes.

But until now, a risk of heart conflict compared with a use ofantipsychotic drugs in comparison people with insanity had been “poorly
examined,” wrote investigate author Dr. Antoine Pariente, of Universite Bordeaux
Segalen in France, and colleagues.

They looked during scarcely 11,000 patients, aged 66 and older, in Quebec who
were being treated with cholinesterase inhibitors for insanity and were
also prescribed antipsychotics.
