Schiff Nutrition shopping Airborne for $150 million

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Vitamin builder Schiff Nutrition International Inc. is purchasing Airborne Inc., a dietary addition provider, from GF Capital Private Equity Fund LP for $150 million.


Shares of Schiff, that is formed in Salt Lake City, climbed 76 cents, or 6.1 percent, to $13.04 in midday trading. The batch reached a new 52-week high of $13.27 in progressing trading.


Airborne looks to support customers’ defence systems by a multiple of vitamins, nutrients and herbal extracts. The Minneapolis company’s defence support products embody gaseous tablets, new chewable tablets and on-the-go packets. It posted about $70 million in income for a year finished Feb. 29.


“We are vehement about a Airborne acquisition, that fits good with a plan and establishes Schiff as a personality in a defence support segment,” Schiff President and CEO Tarang Amin pronounced in a statement.
